You can start probably from 'cleaner' --> Trainee Junior Technician (2 years) ---> Junior Tech. Then take part time course and attemp your B1 or B2..
Anyone else has a better idea?

Go to www.dca.gov.my , download, read and understand the AN1101.
At least this is the first step to do before telling yourself that you want to do the Part-66's Cat B1 or B2 without actually knowing what you're getting yourself into!

Of course you can do it at your own time(and money).. Other than your time, energy and monies, each module examination fee costs about RM100. It's in the AN!

hello
@wayne, first of all, u must not confuse diploma/degree`s certificate with license, they r not the same thing
dip/deg`s certificate is issued by college while license (for DCAM part 66) is issued by DCA(Department of Civil Aviation)
there r 3 category for licence(DCAM part 66)
-Category A (Aircraft Maintenance Technician),
-Category B1 (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Mechanical), and
-Category B2 (Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Avionics)
before u apply this license us should have completed all the moduls and with working experiences with real aircraft

for better understanding on DCAM part 66, read http://www.dca.gov.my//Division/Airwort ... tices.html from AN 1101 to AN 1101 APP 5

You only live once, but if you work it right, once is enough.
