APFT Update
07-22-2009, 02:46 PM
Post: #1
On the 22nd July, APFT and University Tun Hussein Onn signed an MOA which allows APFT graduates to continue to do a degree in Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering Technology which allows them to pursue pilot’s training at APFT. In reverse as well, cadets from APFT will be given exemption credit hours to obtain this degree in UTHM.

This collaboration is the first ever in Malaysia and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Manufacturing. By allowing APFT graduates to pursue their degree in a shorter period, they will be competitively positioned to get a job as a pilot. The degree in Bachelor of Aeronautical Engineering Technology includes a 2 year course at UTHM and continuing with the pilot’s training at APFT for 18-20months. The degree program will start in 2010 followed by the pilot’s training at APFT.

APFT has started their Assistant Flying Instructor (AFI) course with 6 cadets. The course will allow them to clock in the hours required as a pilot. The course duration is minimum fifteen (15) weeks.
Ground Training covers forty (40) hours of tuition, seventy eight (78) hours of teaching practice and seven (7) hours of ground tests.
Flying Training - The course consists a minimum of thirty one (31) hours of single engine flying.
Upon completion of this course the candidate will be permitted to carry out flying instruction on single engine aircraft up to PPL level.
APFT will subsidise the course as well as pay a very attractive salary package for the AFI cadets. They are only required to stay with APFT 2-3 years. APFT will also assist these cadets with job placements once they have completed the course.
This AFI course is open to non APFT students/graduates as well.

-- Wed Oct 21, 2009 10:55 am --

APFT's leased Eagle aircrafts owned by CTRM has been grounded since 19th October 09 due to insurance matters. Once CTRM has resolved their insurance matters (within these few days), the Eagle aircrafts will be operational.

Wisma UOA Damansara,
50, Jalan Dungun, Damansara Heights

Can somebody give me a clear written direction using public transport?

Thank you. Smile

So happen to have RapidKL bus route guide right infront my desk at the moment haha.

It says here bus T634 which originates from Bangsar LRT station goes through Jalan Dungun and stops right in front some MBSB building which is right beside Wisma UOA. Not sure if this guide is still current, suggest you clarify with them before taking bus.

Otherwise a cab will be a better option but its gonna cost you a lot knowing half of the drivers in KL dont use their meters.

There is a bus stop next to Maybank on Jalan Damansara, about 5 minutes walk from Wisma UOA.
